Hawthorne Airport has protected us in time of war... and provided for our families in time of peace. Please vote to protect this valuable city asset and save our jobs today! Please join with me... and many of your neighbors in voting NO on Measure A this November 6th.

Respectfully,

Ginny McGinnis Lambert
Mayor Pro-Tem

I will NEVER vote to close the Airport.

Larry Guidi
Mayor

Our Airport is too important to all of us to be turned into a Mall or NFL Stadium. Our local Police Department needs our Airport to keep us safe. Law Enforcement from all over the area depends on Hawthorne Airport to provide the highest level of protection available.

That's why I'm voting NO on Measure A and I'd ask you to do the same.

Sincerely,

Mark Schoenfeld
Hawthorne City Council

I am a vocal opponent of Measure A. I would ask for and encourage all residents to join me in voting NO on A.

Our local Hawthorne Airport is a treasured and valuable asset, one that deserves our protection and inprovement. Many of the aviation advances we today take for granted were developed right here in Hawthorne.

I support sound economic growth. I welcome anyone who wishes to invest in our community. Unfortunately, I fear that we cannot depend on the numerous pie in the sky promises made by the developers who wish to close down our airport for their own financial gain.

Improved and expanded economic development around the airport can be a reality. We don't need to close the airport. The is the wrong development, at the wrong location and at the wrong time.

Please join me in voting NO on Measure A.

Gary Parsons
Candidate for City Council

I oppose the closing of the Hawthorne Airport under the current proposals. The Hawthorne Airport serves as a hub for law enforcement activities and might even be used for our nation's defense in the near future.

Furthermore, proponents of closing the airport have not proven that they have made any deal with the city that would guarantee more money for our schools, libraries, Police department or our Fire Department.

Pablo Catano
Candidate for City Council

Shopping Centers only bring in entry level jobs, Inadequate!! Hawthorne Airport should remain open because LAX cannot have jets flying over our city as long as we have an airport operation here.

Also, our airport could attract another aerospace corporation who might wish to locate where Northrup had operations.

Plus, in an emergency, helicopter fleets could operate from the airport.

Wally Blazicek
Candidate for Mayor

As your Fire Chief, I always felt we were very fortunate to have our airport ready and available as a port of entry for all emergency relief supplies and medical evacuation in the event of a disaster in our region.

Robert Hartzell
Former Firechief, Hawthorne Resident - 82 years

We need the Hawthorne Airport in case of an earthquake or any other disaster. The Airport is the only way out to help the community.

Francis Stiglich

Keep the Hawthorne Airport open so our students can attend the aviation museum and the Young Eagles program.

Nilo Michelin
Candidate for Hawthorne School Board
